Nady Benyamine - Violin, Oud, Guitar
Nady Benyamine (b. 1983) grew up in a musical family. His parents were very active in the field of Christian Middle-Eastern music in Egypt, composing and performing many spiritual songs. The youngest member of his church choir, Benyamine started showing an exceptional talent and understanding for musical concepts at the age of four. His parents encouraged him to pursue the study of music by giving him piano and violin lessons with various professors from the Cairo Conservatory of Music. At age eleven, Benyamine was among the first in the country to participate in the Suzuki program held by the Cairo Opera House. For nearly three years, Benyamine was privileged to study with Osman el-Mahdy -- former concertmaster of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Benyamine continued taking private lessons and performing with his school orchestras after his family migrated to the United States. He was able to attend the School of Music at Wayne State University, after reciving both the Andy Stindt Music Scholarship as well as the Wayne State Talent Award in 2001. At Wayne State, he studied with Movses Pogossian, Marian Tanau, Caroline Code, and Kypros Markou. Benyamine is expecting to graduate by the fall of 2007 with a double major -- Violin Performance and Music Education.

Benyamine has been performing with numerous musical ensembles in the Metro Detroit area, such as the Southern Great Lakes Symphony Orchestra, the Wayne State Symphony Orchestra, the Rochester Symphony Orchestra, the Wayne Newton Orchestra, and the BrassWorks Ensemble. Following his parent's legacy, Benyamine has also been very involved with the Middle-Eastern Christian musical community in the United States. His violin and 'ud performances have been a part of various Arab Christian conferences/musical events, not only in the Metro Detroit area, but also in Chicago, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Indiana, New Jersey and Toronto.
Benyamine is currently performing with the Il Segreto String Quartet, as the second violinist. He is also one of the worship leaders at the Arab Evangelical Alliance Church in Madison Heights, Michigan.
